White latex is extremely prone to "bronzing" and UV damage. Any contact with copper, brass, or nickel (from jewelry, coins, or low-quality zippers) will cause permanent brown stains within minutes. Additionally, white latex yellows quickly when exposed to sunlight. You must handle it with clean hands and store it in a completely light-proof bag.
Wash quickly in cold water and never soak. High-contrast colors can "bleed" if left damp together. Use a specialized latex soap, rinse thoroughly, and pat dry immediately with a lint-free towel. When drying, ensure the red parts (like the cross or trim) do not touch the white sections, as the moisture can transfer the red pigment onto the white surface.
Store individually and use acid-free tissue. Accessories are often lost or crushed. Wash them separately from the main dress. Once 100% dry, store the cap and apron in their own individual zip-lock bags. Use acid-free tissue paper inside the cap to help it maintain its crisp shape and prevent the latex from sticking to itself during storage.
Be extremely careful; makeup causes permanent stains. Foundations, lipsticks, and sunscreens often contain oils or pigments that permanently stain light-colored latex. Avoid getting makeup on the collar or cap. If a smudge occurs, wipe it off immediately with mild soapy water. Once a pigment settles into the white latex, it is usually impossible to remove.
